    Hello,
How can patellar tendonitis be identified and differentiated from a torn tendon for better management?

    Hello hsmall77,
Tendonitis is an inflammation of a tendon and since there is no tear, you will feel a lump at the patellar tendon which is immovable and there might be a pain. If there is a tear, you will feel a gap separating the long tendon and the person will totally lose the control of the limb.
